Agribusiness needs people who know and understand the science of agriculture. In many cases, though, science knowledge alone is insufficient. The skills and abilities to transform science knowledge into meaningful products and services are needed, too.
The goal of the MS degree in Agricultural Production is to produce graduates with advanced knowledge in agricultural science and with relevant real-world business knowledge and skills.
Agricultural innovation requires understanding and managing relationships – the connections among laboratory, field, consumer, regulator, investor, and more. The depth of the science curriculum plus the breadth of the business curriculum guide you toward an understanding of these connections. As an Agricultural Production graduate, you can contribute to the full range of activities that take plants or animals from farm to fork.
To help tailor your degree to match your professional goals, three specializations are available:
- Crop Production
- Food Animal Production
- Sustainable Production Systems
